“In Their Own Words”
Our staff comments about their employment at Lakeside-Milam:
Quincy Jefferson began his career with Lakeside-Milam Recovery Centers in 1997 as an Associate Counselor in the Adolescent Inpatient Center in Burien. Quincy is now the Training Director.
“I have always felt supported while working at Lakeside, above and beyond a normal workplace.”
“You have to love what you do, and people here love what they do.”
Rodney began his career with Lakeside-Milam in 1999. He started as a counselor trainee and over the years has worked his way up to Administrator at our Tacoma Outpatient Office.
“I immediately saw the passion from the staff to help others get to recovery, and it is greatly rewarding to me to help patients and family members get their lives back. Often, a parent doesn’t even know that drugs or alcohol are the problem before they bring their teen to Lakeside. I love to hear a mother or father call after their child has finished 35 days in our adolescent facility to tell me they have their son or daughter back, the one they haven’t seen for many years. Having the family program available to them so they can also recover their own lives is priceless.”
Monica Talley began her career with Lakeside-Milam Recovery Centers in 1986 as an administrative assistant. She started at the main facility that was then located in Juanita at the St. Thomas Center. Monica is currently the Human Resources Director.
“I love that we promote from within here at Lakeside. I have had several positions over the years, and I have always felt appreciated and have been supported in whatever I do.
“I get to see firsthand, on a daily basis, the passion and dedication our staff has towards the patients and for each other. Lakeside is my ‘second family.’”
