It is important to understand that not every heavy drinker or drug
user is an alcoholic or addict, nor that all heavy users need
addiction treatment. Rather, we attempt here to provide a
foundation for a common understanding of drug and alcohol
addictions, our particular area of concern, and especially to
discuss these problems and their solutions when addiction impacts
the workplace.
